Purpose of Introducing E-Commerce Law
E-commerce is the short term used to refer electronic commerce, which means online business. In simple terms purchase and sale of goods and services through online is called the e-commerce. Online business and internet marketing has become the significant method of developing business. Selling or buying has been made never so easier and it is now done without stepping out of home. Eventually, there is no shortage of scammers and hackers in internet business.
This facilitates developing of rules and regulations to restrict the spam and scammers of the online business. E-commerce law has been introduced to initiate the code of conduct of the websites and online business and govern their transactions with customers.
E-commerce law covers the following aspects on e-contracts with the seller and buyer, i.e. the website or business owner and the client, license for running such business online, secured payment options with different methods and the intellectual property rights.
Just like any other traditional business governed by certain rules and regulations, online business is subjected to the governance of e-commerce law. Anything found as the violation of e-commerce law is liable for punishment as decided by the regulating authority. Eventually, introduction of e-commerce law makes the business transactions safe.
